The Secret Of Getting Consistent Business

The Secret Of Getting Consistent Business

Understand The Business You’re Really In

You're in the marketing business, whether you realize it or not.

People cannot hire you if they do not know you exist.

It doesn’t matter how good your product or service is because that business is your secondary business.

Your primary business is your marketing business because if not enough people know you exist, your secondary business will fail.

Your marketing activities are how you get people to know you exist.

You Gotta Be Consistent

Sporadic marketing will produce sporadic inquiries, at best.

For consistent inquiries, you have to engage in consistent marketing activities.

These two books can help you determine what those marketing activities look like for your business:

But once you've identified the marketing activities that will help you get people to know you exist, they will only work if you execute them consistently.

That's why it's important to keep score.

Every day.

Keeping Score

Keeping score holds you accountable and makes it clear why you do better in some times of the year than others.

When you keep score on a daily basis, you'll see the correlation between you doing what you're supposed to do and you getting the results you want.

You'll also see the correlation between you NOT doing what you're supposed to be doing and you getting the corresponding results.

So keep score.

Figure out what you're supposed to be doing in terms of your daily marketing activities and figure out how to track it.

I use a daily checklist that I log into a spreadsheet every day.

Yeah, it's boring and monotonous.

And it keeps me on track, day in and day out.

This is the kind of stuff that separates highly successful business owners from those who are just getting by.

You Gotta Develop Discipline

If you want big success, you have to do the things that big success requires.

Remember, you started your own business so you could be the boss.

There’s nobody monitoring you to make sure you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing.

That’s your job and you have to make sure you do all the things that are required for you to be successful.

Oprah and Jeff Bezos got where they are by doing the things that big success requires.

You can do the same.

It’s Your Choice

You can do the boring and monotonous things that success requires.

Or you can stay where you are.

Either outcome is fine, you just have to choose which outcome you want for yourself and make your daily activities reflect that choice.
