Irv Gotti Ate His Way To An Early Death At Just 54 Years Old
Irv Gotti was a man who created incredible financial success for himself and for others and he had every resource available to him to live a long and healthy life.
He should have had at least 30 more years of life to enjoy.
Instead, he's dead at 54 because he wouldn't control what he put into his mouth.
Educating The Uninformed
If someone wants to eat themselves to death, that's their choice and there's nothing that anyone can do about it.
But there are some quotes from Irv Gotti that make you wonder if he had any good people around him educating him about what eating healthy means and what it doesn't mean.
From this USA Today article:
In an August 2023 interview on the "Drink Champs" podcast, Lorenzo said, "My diabetes, my number's been high. ... They said, 'Dad, you can't do 'Drink Champs.' I said I ain't going to drink or smoke.
"What it does is it starts deteriorating your body," he explained, answering "no" when asked whether he has his diabetes "under control."
"I've been diagnosed with diabetes forever," he said. After being asked about which foods he should be avoiding, he added, "I'm going to enjoy life."
"I'm Going To Enjoy Life."
Living in a deteriorating body and ultimately dying at just 54 years old...is that really enjoying life?
Irv Gotti's passing is a high profile, WAY-too-early death that you can and should be using as a teaching tool, CHEF, because this man's death will really bring the message home to some people that diabetes WILL take your ass out and it is 100% preventable or reversible through dietary change.
And eating healthy does not mean sacrificing great food and fantastic flavor.
If you're serious about being a food educator, this story should really bother you and you should be doing something about it.
If you're not going to be the voice who steps up and teaches people how to eat to live, whose job is it, chef?
If an example like this isn't enough to get you in gear about getting your cooking show started, what will it take?
Irv Gotti was a father whose kids now have to navigate life without him simply because of his food choices.
You have the ability to use your voice and your cooking skills to prevent that from happening to other families.
You have the ability, but what are you actually going to do?
