Your "About Me" Page Is Not Really About You
It's About Your Ideal Client
If you think about it, "what can you help me with?" is all most people really care about.
Your About Me page an opportunity for you to clearly and succinctly communicate what it is about you that can help your ideal client solve whatever problem you specialize in solving for them.
The easier you make it for your ideal client to determine that you have a solution for their problem, the faster you move them towards buying from you.
It Is What It Is
It probably sounds callous, but the truth is that most people don't really care About You until after they've determined that you can help them.
We all have so little time these days, that's just an unfortunate truth.
So think about optimizing your About Me page to be about your ideal client rather than about you.
Less About You
Write less about who you are and what you've done and more about what you can do to help your ideal client.
That makes it easy for your ideal client to know you're who they're looking for.
It also makes it easy for people to refer someone to you because it's clear exactly what you do and who you help.
And None of That Industry Jargon
We can't refer people to you if we don't understand what you do.
Potential customers don't understand industry jargon, either.
They do understand their pain points, though. Speak to that.
